Copper-Infused High-Temperature Head Gasket Sealant Spray

MASUMA Copper-Infused High-Temperature Head Gasket Sealant is a high-temperature-resistant aerosol sealant specially designed for engine head gaskets, exhaust pipes, and flange joints. Formulated with a heat-resistant resin and fine copper powder particles, it is primarily used to enhance sealing at metal mating surfaces, including engine cylinder head gaskets, exhaust manifolds, turbocharger connections, and high-temperature pipe flanges. When head gaskets or exhaust components are removed and reinstalled, minor surface irregularities in the original gaskets, wear on metal mating surfaces, and small gaps can lead to gas leaks, coolant leaks, and oil seepage. Once sprayed and formed, this product creates a tough sealing layer reinforced with copper particles that fills tiny gaps and pores between mating surfaces. It withstands high temperatures and resists oil and gas corrosion, making it an essential sealing consumable for engine overhauls, head gasket replacement, and exhaust system repairs.

■ This product is suitable for sealing and reinforcing cylinder head gaskets in gasoline and diesel engines across a wide range of passenger cars and trucks. It can also be used on exhaust manifold gaskets, turbocharger flanges, high-temperature coolant pipe flanges, and high-temperature compressor sealing surfaces. It is suitable for engine overhauls, cylinder head gasket replacement, exhaust system modifications and repairs, and general maintenance work.
Product Advantages
■ Copper Powder Reinforcement for Improved Sealing: The sealant contains ultrafine copper powder that fills minor scratches, pits, and machining gaps on cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, and flange mating surfaces. It compensates for imperfect contact between the gasket and metal surfaces, helping create a tight seal that prevents gas and oil leaks.
■ Exceptional High-Temperature Resistance: Designed for high-temperature engine operating conditions, the sealant resists deterioration and cracking under heat. It is suitable for high-temperature exhaust joints and head gasket areas around the combustion chambers, helping prevent sealant failure and leakage at elevated temperatures.
■ Uniform Application with Aerosol Spray: The aerosol design produces a fine, uniform mist, allowing the coating thickness to be controlled without the need for a spatula or scraper. It makes applying sealant evenly across large gaskets and flange surfaces easier and more efficient than using paste-type sealants.
■ Resistance to Oil and Coolant: Once cured, the sealant resists exposure to engine oil, antifreeze, and gasoline. It does not swell or delaminate under prolonged contact with oil and coolant, helping maintain a stable, long-lasting seal.
■ Easier Disassembly During Future Repairs: Once cured, the copper-reinforced sealant layer remains flexible. When a head gasket needs to be removed during subsequent maintenance, the sealant can be scraped off relatively easily without leaving stubborn, hard residue that could damage the gasket or metal mating surfaces.
Product Performance
■ Formulated with heat-resistant synthetic resin and high-purity ultrafine copper powder, this product dries to the touch quickly after spraying and forms a dense sealing layer within a short period. The copper particles effectively fill microscopic gaps, machining tolerances, and minor wear grooves on metal mating surfaces, improving the tightness of the head gasket seal. Once cured, the sealant offers excellent resistance to high temperatures, engine oil, coolant, and combustion gases. It helps prevent compressed gas from escaping the cylinders and stops oil and coolant leaks. The cured layer retains a degree of flexibility, accommodating thermal expansion and contraction during engine heating and cooling cycles to help prevent cracking and seal failure. It helps maintain reliable head gasket sealing and address problems such as combustion gas blow-by past the head gasket, cooling system over-pressurization and coolant overflow, coolant contamination of engine oil, and exhaust leaks at flange connections.

Standard Instructions for Use

■ Surface Preparation: Thoroughly remove old sealant, oil, carbon deposits, and rust from the cylinder head, cylinder block, and flange mating surfaces. Ensure that all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contaminants.
■ Shake the Can Thoroughly: Before use, shake the can thoroughly up and down for at least 1 minute to blend the copper powder evenly with the sealant.
■ Spray from the Specified Distance: Apply a thin, even coat from a distance of 15–25 cm onto the head gasket or metal mating surface. Apply preferably to both sides of the head gasket. If additional gap reinforcement is required, apply two thin coats, allowing the first coat to dry to the touch before applying the second.
■ Allow to Dry to the Touch: After application, leave the sealant undisturbed until the surface is dry to the touch and no longer tacky. At room temperature, this typically takes 5–15 minutes, depending on ambient conditions. Then position and install the head gasket correctly.
■ Tighten Fasteners Correctly: Tighten the cylinder head bolts evenly in stages, following the vehicle manufacturer's specified torque values and tightening sequence. Avoid uneven clamping pressure that could compromise the seal.
■ Allow to Cure: After assembly, allow the sealant to cure at room temperature. Where conditions permit, leave it for several hours before starting the engine. During initial operation, allow the engine to warm up gradually at idle to help ensure that the sealant cures fully.
Precautions
■ This is a flammable aerosol product. Keep away from open flames, high temperatures, and welding heat sources during storage and use. Do not expose the can to direct sunlight, puncture it, or incinerate it. Store in a cool, well-ventilated place below 40°C.
■ Ensure adequate ventilation during application. Avoid spraying large amounts in confined or poorly ventilated spaces to prevent discomfort from inhaling the aerosol.
■ Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. If the product gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. Seek medical attention if discomfort persists. Do not swallow the product.
■ Keep the can as upright as possible during spraying. Do not spray for extended periods with the can inverted, as this may result in uneven discharge.
■ Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental contact or misuse. Do not refill empty cans with other materials.
■ Do not use this product to seal excessively large gaps. Replace the gasket with a new one if the gap is too large. This product is intended only to reinforce sealing.
